Susie Hewitt is a Teaching and Supervising Transactional Analyst (TSTA) and endorsed to train Transactional Analysts around the world.
She has an MSc in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy awarded from Middlesex University in 2017 and is a UKCP Registered Psychotherapist and Clinical Supervisor. She started her clinical practice in December of 2008 and has worked with individuals, couples and families from the outset.
She has run regular psychotherapy groups continuously since 2010.
An adoptee and mother of three, Susie's professional interests have been in applying systemic TA theory and methods in practice. She wrote her first think piece on this subject for the Transactional Analyst in the summer edition of 2017. She has gone onto develop unique systemic training programmes and workshops for the Transactional Analysis community both in the UK and internationally.
Susie has been following the rocky progress of the SCoPEd programme from its inception several years ago. As we are one of only a few developed countries which do not regulate the counselling and psychotherapy profession, Susie is passionate about how we protect the public from potentially untrained, uninsured and unregulated practitioners – and inform our potential clients about the specifics of our training, personal development, research and accreditation journeys. She has written various articles on this subject.
Susie is a member of the UKCP HIPC Training Standards Committee, and is interested our national requirements to become registered as a Psychotherapist and a Clinical Supervisor.
You will find Susie to be a relational, creative and knowledgeable tutor, who invites critical thinking and individuality in her trainees. Using a balance of didactic and experiential learning approaches, you will feel stimulated by the active learning environment.
