The fantastic Matt Taylor hosts this seminar, "A Paradigm for Growth: Mindfulness, Motivators, and Physis in TA Psychotherapy," offers an innovative framework to enhance clinical practice.

Drawing on Fanita English’s Motivators (Passia, Survia, and Transcia), Physis, and a model developed from physiotherapy; the Capacity and Demand Model, this session will illuminate the delicate interplay between a client’s psychological capacity and the demands they face. We will explore how mindfulness stimulates the integrating Adult ego state, fostering decentered awareness and resilience. This perspective empowers therapists to support clients to navigate difficulty and discomfort with awareness, while also placing intelligent demands on clients to promote growth - stretching their capacities just enough to encourage development and reducing the likelihood of activating defensive patterns.

Anchored in recent developments in Transactional Analysis, the seminar integrates theoretical insights and practical strategies. By addressing the socio-political and ecological contexts influencing clients’ lives, the session advocates a considered, context-sensitive approach to therapy.
